Calendar Programs?

Can you recommend a good calendar creating program. I've made them before, but the programs I used in the past aren't cooperating. I tried several today, and they are not working out - EasyCanvasPrints, Calendar Maker, TimeandDate, and Printer Pix. I would like a large picture at the top and the calendar below. EasyCanvas doesn't seem to have a way to start, so everything disappears. I sent an email with questions two days ago - no reply. I phoned India, and he told me basically nothing.

This isn't essential, but for under $15, I thought I'd make a calendar. If you have used anything that works, let me know. I'm about to move on to other projects.

Back in 1994 our library was having its centennial. My wife was in the historical society and they decided to make a calendar with old town photos.

So I wrote a program to produce a calendar. Not too difficult. The original program just generated a PostScript file that worked with our printer. Later on I modified it to produce a jpg and print the jpg so it was more flexible. I could add a title and some subtitles to show important dates. I used it for my greenhouse and seeding production schedule. Originally we seeded lettuce every 10 days so the schedule was useful. Later we had to merge with the schedule for the farm stand so everything got done on a 7 day schedule. Made it easier to remember. The calendar was on an 8.5 x 11 sheet and the photo was on another 8.5 x 11 sheet so I could combine them and print 17 x 11 pages and fold them into a calendar.

I make a calendar each year using photos from the previous year's travels. After much fussing with other methods, I found happiness using Vista Print to produce the final product. Check for specials and you will find it hits your price point.

For the last 3 years I have used Costco with good results. I believe it had the format you are looking for, 8.5 x 11 with spiral to another 8.5 x 11. They were printed (up here in Canada) by Fuji. They have changed printing service and are now with Shutterfly. I have not tried it out yet, but I am pretty sure they can provide the same. Cheers, Louis

That's exactly what I wanted to make. When I saw prices like $11 - $15, that seemed okay. When the price gets to $24 plus shipping and tax, it isn't worth it. This was just a thought I had - not a must-do project. I think I'll print the pictures and then print the calendar part and combine them.

Thanks for your input.

My wife & I have a joint calendar on our cell phones. It's fantastic. Never miss an appointment. Many other nice features. I doubt either of us could function without it. It's free! Yes, the phone was not.

I use the Google calendar, and that appears on all my devices.

Thanks. I'll take a look.

EDITED: Ugh! It wants me to disable the adblocker that I don't have. For some reason, sites occasionally think I have an adblocker.

I've used this one before - https://www.calendarlabs.com/customize/pdf-calendar/monthly-calendar-01

Well but Dirtfarmer can give you a copy of the software. He already wrote the program.

The copy I sent was just the calendar generator without the graphics modules. If you do any programming you can probably figure out how to translate into whatever language you are familiar with. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to get the program into an app for MacOS. Maybe for Win10. Otherwise you need the Python compiler and the other modules (which I can put onto Dropbox).

I used to give Costco calendars to friends for Christmas every year until they stopped this past year and recommended Shutterfly.
IMHO, When I went on Shutterfly I did notice a Very Large Price increase for a "similar-sized, and quality (stock paper, etc.) calendar.
Also, it is nearly impossible to compare apples to apples between any providers.
I predict that this year prove to be Very Painful (price-wise) and my gift list will take a drastic cut.
If any UHHer finds a calendar product close to the former Costco price/quality please post it.
Best Wishes,

Office Max and Staples can produce calendars for you. CVS too, I think.

I use timeanddate.com

Very interesting web site for all sorts of time related information as well as calendar creation.
