In preparation for the Annular Eclipse, I was doing a test run with my Fujo XT-4 and Tamron 18-300 lens. It was hot in Los Angeles, approaching 96 deg F, and I started getting overheating warnings on the rear screen. At the time, I was only taking a handful of still images, no video. It will be at least 20 deg cooler in Albuquerque, so I wonder if this is just a localized issue due to the extreme temps in LA?
Long exposures can cause the sensor to get hot, especially if you're including long exposure noise reduction. Apart from that, 96 deg does sound quite extreme.
Call Fuji they are open on Saturday.
