This is a focused Stacked Image of a dorsal view of one of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug agricultural terrorists. It was an experimental session using a 105mm bellows lens with a circular polarized lens-mounted filter.

The legs of the stink bug are arranged in a tight cluster of the thorax so they are seldom seen on a dorsal view for the legs draw up when preserved. Fortunately, the antennae remain supple and they can be carefully caressed to straighten out using a small soft camel hair art bush.

The polarized filter helped bring out the insect's colors in addition to helping retard any surface glare on the exoskeleton.

Beautiful subtle colors and, as usual, amazing detail. Yours are always the first pictures I look for when I open UHH in the morning.

Awesome shot. I don’t see that kind of color in the stink bugs here but I have never looked that close
