A Nikon Z 180-600mm lens arrived at my house this past Friday and unfortunately I didn't have the time to go out bird hunting but did fire off a couple of shots in the yard and in the house. Of all the photos I took, I found this one to be of interest due to the excellent bokeh. Coupled up to the Z9 it is a beastie. Coming in at about 8 pounds.

Background on photo:
It is basically out of the camera (OOC) and cropped. The photo is of my 18th scale die cast metal cars in a display case. Photos shot from about 14' away as I sat in my office chair.

In the right side of the photo you can see my blue t-shirt and a bright red splotch which is the corner of my office chair. The background of the photo is a mirrored reflection of books in a large bookcase across the room. No flash or tripod was used. All ambient light only.

The lens is stout at about 8 pounds when paired with the Z9 camera. I am looking forward to some intimate wildlife photos soon.

I like this shot, for me, it looks like it needs something else, I am not sure what, maybe a kicker light to the left. Oh well, I will come back later to see what I am trying to tell you.

I totally understand what you are saying. This was literally a random snapshot in poor, unplanned lighting. The room has 6 LED mini can lights in ceiling, only two on. There was no light in windows as it was night. I didn'r use a flash as it would reflect in glass. No art piece for sure. Thanks for comments and checking it out.

Congrats! I've had one on order from B&H since June 22. Curiosity question if you feel comfortable answering - when did you place your order, from what vendor, and are you NPS? I'm hoping I receive shipping notification on mine with enough wiggle room so I'll receive it before we leave for Antarctica mid-month (October).

Thanks Earnest. In order to keep the elite happy here on UHH I guess I better post process the Raw version of this photo, since this is the OOC jpg version. 🤣🤣🤣

I am not NPS. I ordered directly from Nikon USA. I placed the order on 6/21 right at midnight (PDT) online launch.

Thank you so much. Not being NPS either, and not wanting my credit card charged until actual shipment, I ordered from B&H. Maybe I should consider ordering newly announced gear from Nikon in the future

Sorry, Jim, I don't pay attention to the elite here, I shoot in jpg, I don't have time for PP. I got tired of the elite trying to tell what and how to do my posts, I do my own thing.

Awesome Earnest! There are some really nice people here and a couple that are either bully like or just consistently have a burr under their saddle. I consider the source and ignore them.

HA! Glad you figured out the puzzle. Just for a follow up, I saw the moon rising and ran out and took this handheld with the 180-600. Photo is at full zoom, hand held. Photo was cropped by 75%.
