Been there many times. The teenager should be flogged! Always struck me as funny, they come ashore at Dover, and set off to walk to Nottingham. That is probably 150 miles, at a guess. Hadrian's Wall is probably 200 miles further North, past Nottingham... Nice little afternoon stroll...

I think you've encapsulated much of both the problems and the frustrations with today's society. Perhaps the pendulum will eventually find a happy medium when it comes to crime and punishment.
