I think at the price of $2500 usd it will fly off the shelves, based on initial reviews of this lens. Whatever happened to just a gold rim?

It will sell to a select group. I had the Nikon 135 f/2 df and it wasn't pulled out of bag a lot but it had a special purpose when needed and fulfilled its job well. Specialty lens for sure.
