Actually, if the truth be known, I have this really bad habit of pointing out the obvious. The other day one of the inmates was rapidly pushing an intercom button. I explain to these guys on a regular basis, that it takes one press to alert me of their presence and that the rest is just noise.
So, a couple of days ago this clown was smashing the intercom button so I said, What's the rush, you have nowhere to go and years to get there.
He said something that was very unflattering but it's okay, I make almost as much in an hour as they do in a month. Smash on bros.
Yes, the State of Colorado pays them if they have some sort of a "job" or are enrolled in an educational program. It's nominal, something like 82 cents per day but it cuts down on accusations of slave labor.
Honestly, the longer that I work here the more I like the idea of going back to the days of chain gangs. This is such a hug-a-thug environment that the idea of a string of guys chained together is appealing. One guy, one horse, and one shotgun. It would save the state millions.

Excellent photo. There are hard to find and harder to get a decent photo. I've been luck twice, but mine address not this good. There are lots in golden valley, az. Next time through I might get lucky again.
