Having just announced the Zf, today's email from Nikon says there will be ANOTHER new product announcement in five days...what could it be? The teaser video is a bit cryptic ("Plena" ?), but I'm guessing it is another lens? Seems a bit early for the Z6iii, but that would be welcome too for sure!
HAL-9000 : What is going to happen?
Dave : Something wonderful.
HAL-9000 : I'm afraid.
Dave : Don't be. We'll be together.
HAL-9000 : Where will we be?
Dave : Where I am now.
HAL-9000 : I can't handle that Dave.....

I think youve got the roles reversed ?
But its entertaining to picture it that way :-)
I think a new lens with very large aperture.

A 1000mm f 1.2 lens LOL (ouch, my back!)
That's what it appears - a new lens probably in the holy trinity range. Nikon seems to be alternating the lens/camera announcements lately.

2024: A Nikon Odyssey
Would it be as boring as the 2001: A Space Odyssey?

WHAT was boring about that...

Most boring is the psychedelic slide show
Second is most of the scenes like the bed room scene toward the end.
Third is the interaction with HAL9000
Most interesting is the part where they eat ham sandwiches and taste like chicken or something like that.

Perhaps, but the Z9000 will have built in AI to rival the HAL-9000 and sound like HAL too...it will address you by name and say "I'm sorry Chris, I can't do that."
Z9000 - "I'm sorry to report Chris I deleted all your poorly composed shots."
Z9000 - "I deleted your last shot Chris, it had severely blown highlights."
When you try to pull out the memory cards, the Z9000 will lock the card slot door and say "I know what you're trying to do, Chris. I can't let you do that."
If the Z9000 doesn't like most of your shots, it will lock you out and take pictures for you.
Don't worry, it's only sci-fi, FOR NOW.... :)

Having just announced the Zf, today's email from N... (

I got a short video teaser from Nikon today. I'm expecting some new addition to the imaging control system that was introduced a couple of years ago.

Better buy a donkey to carry it.
