Aaaah . . . I was waiting for that. It was a single shot of the chimp on left, reversed. Background logs had to be manipulated to not appear mirrored. A few minor alterations to subject on right (darkened, "Spock's" ear added, foreground grass cloned out), then the rain/mist added.
