I, too, was adopted, Mark, by wonderful parents. I had some athletic ability, but would have loved to have had my Dad's speed. He was a Big Ten halfback. I saw him take punts once against the high school varsity and they couldn't even touch him he was that quick and elusive.
Note: From my earliest memory we celebrated the "anniversaries" of both my and my sister's adoptions. We had little celebrations just within the family like a b'day party including gifts. We knew from the beginning that we were adopted....but that it was a good a joyous thing. My sister and I were the fortunate ones!! That date, to me, is just as important as my birthday.

It is!! How special were my parents? They NEVER yelled at me. That doesn't mean they never disciplined or got upset with me and let me know it. They just never yelled at me. I never knew how special that was until later in life.
