I took some photos at my grandson’s soccer game, and afterwards edited them in Lightroom. I was shooting at 3200 ISO, and ran the photos through Lightroom’s Denoise. I thought the photos came out fine, but here’s my question: once I started the Denoise process, I got a message that said: “Time remaining 9 minutes.” Are other users finding that it takes approximately 9 minutes to run that process? I don’t know if that’s typical, or due to the specs of my Mac.
Thanks for your comments.
It is very dependent upon your GPU performance. I've an entry level GPU with just 2GB memory. For me, a Z6 file, 33 meg takes around 7 mins and a Z8 file 45 meg takes around 12 mins approx. These are 'estimated' times shown and actual time is approx. 2 mins less. You are not alone.
For info, a couple of days ago I started a thread on exactly the same subject and some very knowledgeable members have given great advice. It can be found here
I've found that investigating component 'upgrades' and options has opened up a can of worms.
