This is a friendly place with friends who live in the atmosphere of respect. I am ever so careful of what I write and think. I am reminded of a mistake I made a while ago. I have had a long diatribe about some thread. Sure enough, the Admin was ever so considerate. I was grabbed by my ankles with one hand. The Admin had the other arm free to open the door. Once swung open, I was dragged up the stairs to The Attic. It was most unpleasant as I would bang the back of my head on each step. I am still puzzled why there are 39 steps up to the Attic. Since it was dark up there I wandered around for some time bumping in to walls and other relics of the past while trying to find a window to open. There was None! I did find a corner to sulk and pout and realize my foolishness. I dare not make that mistake again!

Dear friends, please heed my warning! Do not dare make the same foolishness as I have done before.
This is a friendly place with friends who live in ... (show quote)

What a great old movie, The 39 Steps, with Robert Donat. Alfred Hitchcock at his best. Thanks for the reminder.

There you go. You couldn't control yourself. You had to write nonsense and get this joke moved to The Attic. If you had a working mind, you would know that inflation is very low. It's idiots like you who are ruining this forum.

Uh, no Jerry, inflation is NOT very low. It is lower but still not low.

Wow, Jerry. How old are you? Ten?

I don't know which is worse, you resorting to name-calling over an old, not-so-funny joke, or that you actually think inflation is low. Stop watching MSNBC and try to be a better steward of this site that you think you run.

He does. The Chit-chat section. Jerry is a very prolific contributor.

But back to prices. I bought a new, AUD $300, electric guitar before the pandemic and another AUD $350 guitar half way through. Both are now in the $500 range. Thanks Biden.

Glad someone is benefiting.

I am glad you caught the
reference. A majority did not catch it. Only us old folks know what is going on.

The Bidens are benefiting! Both guitars are Chinese so ... you know ... the Bidens! Hunter Biden and Biden Biden have also managed $2 a litre petrol in Aussie! Talk about punching above your weight!

The Bidens always benefit. What's the point of being President if it doesn't make you rich (er)? If gasoline was around $7.60 a gallon here, I'd have to give up my 18 mpg SUV for a Moped or golf cart. A Mel Brooks character sang, "It's good to be king." Being President or the son of a president ain't a bad gig, either.

G'day, mate.

Which one do most Americans want to be? Don Jr or Eric or the Pillow guy or Lindsey Graham?

Jerry, I enjoyed your topic. Thought it was very funny and not political at all and that the poster shouldn't have brought politics into it. But I have to say, inflation is not low at all and just went up again a good tick.

I don't want to be any of them. I've been me for 77 years now and I'm pretty comfortable with it. Can't speak for other Amercans.

Did you know you're old enough to run for the GOPer 2024 nominee? Do you have any felony convictions or current cases? It's all good.

I can be ridiculed right here. I can't imagine doing that on a national scale. No criminal entanglements so far, but you never know what opportunity the future will bring.

I know what you mean. I'm 76, in reasonable health and I couldn't imagine doing that job day after day.

Well, although the office of POTUS seems to actually be being done by a behind the scenes committee, probably including Obama and The Clintons, I don't envy Biden and Harris being the public face of abject incompetence.
