Do you have another mouse you can try? I have maybe half a dozen Logitech $15 wireless mice, and I’ve never had one fail, but if you prefer Apple…

I guess there is a case for RF interference with the mouse to MPB link, but that’s a stretch. I operate 1+KW transmitters on multiple HF, VHF and UHF frequencies just a foot or two from my Logitech mouse, and it doesn’t phase it. Older mice operated on 27MHz, but new ones operate in the 2.4 GHZ band where there is both WiFi and microwave ovens, so there’s that possibility, but again, a stretch. Any chance you’ve moved a WiFi router to a different location recently?

my mouse is a Logitech is a M185, p/n 810-005234. Router has been in same place for 2 years. Using FIOS for streaming movies. My laptop is 2 rooms away from the router, that has not changed for 6 years.

Then I’m guessing the quickest fix (assuming you’ve rebooted everything) is to go to your closest office supply store or Amazon and pick up a new Logitech - they’re not expensive. It could be a computer issue, but I’m semi illiterate on Macs.

Mostly a wireless mouse. I also have Intego installed, will use it right now.

I'm currently using a wired mouse that started acting wonky. It seems as if the connecting wire has a bad connection. I added a cordless mouse to the system and put the wired one behind the monitor. Occasionally, the cursor would start shaking and moving an inch or two around the screen. It was that wired mouse acting up. I had moved the cordless mouse to another computer, but I'll have to move it back to this one. This one is too annoying to use.

Do you have another mouse you can try?

I just bought a new mouse on Amazon for $8. I was leary because of the price. Boy was I surprised. It's loaded with features and at $8 I don't care if it craps out in the future. It's close to and maybe better than my Logitech and MS mice. It's a Tecknet with adjustable Dpi up to 4800. BTW it's wireless and not Bluetooth.

If I leave the computer alone and the mouse alone, the cursor jumps around, without me.
Just now as I write the screen jumps by itself bigger and smaller, just as I write this now.
Its as if someone else is doing remote controll.

Just got my delivery of a Lianstar laptop cooling pad.
Been using it for a couple of hours and the cursor is no longer jumping around, neither is the screen image jumping to a giant blowup, neither is the cursor jumping around without my control ! $25.

Knock on Wood ! I'm happy !

Coincidence? I like the idea of a cooling pad. I have an aluminum one I use occasionally.
