Still tweaking this image.

You would have to measure luminance values on the original image but it looks like the brightest areas may be blocked up.

The other thing that bothers me is the apparent headless human included to provide some scale to the image.

The first. In it, there is much less noise and better detail. For example, in the figure standing by the building the head is more reconizable, whereas it is just a hint in the second and earlier versions.

Thank you, Shoe.

It's a tossup for me, Ben. I like the clean lines of the first one, and I like the honesty (for lack of a better word) of the second. So, no clear winner from me.

Thank you, John!

The dirty windows detracts from the original IMHO. I like to see detail, but that is too much.

I agree. Thanks!

Ben, great shot. I will declare #1 a clear (no pun intended) winner for a different reason. The lighter concrete overall affords a defintive separation from the two black areas of rectangles/triangles, as well as allowing the human figure to be more recognizable. To me it's a classic B&W in B&W.

Thank you, Chance.

Is the head better now?

I like the contrast in the 2nd 1 better.

Shots like this usually benefit from an infusion of starkness. The cleaner blacks in the window frames add to that. Put another way, the cleaner windows make for better contrast and a more pronounced geometrical look. Personally I prefer the darker triangle of concrete - there's sufficient brightness on the front face.

I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
