When my mother died I inherited her family genealogy stuff. So I went online to try to find my father's genealogy. I found that a couple centuries back there was an ancestor named Faust.

Did not have a photo.

As was my Grandfather (Mom's Dad). Good hard work but it puts food on the table!! My Grandmother raised chickens. Never lacked for eggs or chicken for Sunday dinner.

My mum...1903, was born on a farm with her 6 siblings........when I was about 12 or so she told me that she would kill me rather than have me marry a farmer. NO way would I be tempted.

The continual emails telling you there is a match is even worse.

I know what you're talking about. My Mom was born in '25, but we do have photos of my Grandfather plowing fields with a mule. They had a half section in Kansas and when the depression came along they pinched every penny do keep the farm. My Grandmother would pluck the chickens she sold to make an extra penny. The thing Mom hated was going to school in dresses made from feed sacks, which in those days were not burlap bags but somewhat colorful cloth. Go back earlier than that, to '03, and it would almost be like pioneer days.
