Speaking of Old Hippy, anyone know anything about him. Miss his posts.

Hi Kerry12. Go to search on the top of this page and type in ( Msg from "Old Hippy") just like it is in the parenthesis and it should take you to the time I got a .hold of him. Haven't heard from him since. Let me know if that doesn't work.

Hello Reuss,

Honestly, there are times when I am at a loss as to how to respond to a comment such as yours. The reason I say

this is because with all my years on this awesome site I have witnessed many heated and inflammatory exchanges

that do become quite ugly and summarily, one or more members gets booted off of this site permanently.

In a nutshell, your comment begins as a glowing, very complimentary review and ends up stating what you would

and would not do. No image is perfect. I believe it is a case where one bad apple does not spoil the whole barrel.

With all of the high praise and awards this image has received here and on many other sites, your comment is the

only one with a negative perspective. I cannot shape or mold my work with the intention or concerns about how

someone else thinks or may think I should do my work. Thnx for reading. Hope this finds you well. :)

On the one hand you didn’t ask for a critique so he probably shouldn’t have given one. On the other hand he said he liked the image and only offered a mild bit of advice and it seems your reaction is way overblown. Truthfully I disagree with him. I don’t think it’s over saturated at all. It’s a nice image but I doubt your assertion that it has “won awards”. You say that’s the only negative comment, but maybe that’s because you posted in a forum where negative comments are frowned upon. That’s why I rarely post images here. I get all the glowing praise I need from friends and family. When I post for other photographers I’d rather get peer review. I often disagree but I also often learn and it has made me a better photographer.

I re-read Mr. Griffiths' comment and do not see it as negative in any way. You did say "Hope you enjoy," and clearly he did, and then merely described what he might do differently. I think you may have taken his reply wrong.

Don't get my comment wrong. I'm not suggesting you change anything. Just that of all the images I've seen, this is the only one that I didn't say WOW. I still think it's a great image but I like your other images better. Wouldn't it be a dull world if we all thought the same way.

I understand and many thanks for your unsolicited personal opinion. You certainly must have known that I really

care. In addition, many thanks also for calling me a liar. After all, this is only about folks taking pictures. No need

for any negativism. It appears as though you are looking for a fight and if that is in fact the case, I would very

much appreciate your not commenting on my images.

Best wishes,

Tony :)

Thank you very much for your glowing review and kind words. Glad to see that most of folks here understand that

there is a reason the image was not uploaded in the Critique Section. :(

Regards,

Tony
