The weather was good and bad. Bad in that it rained, good in that it provided many very nice cloud photo opportunities! I just love the view from Molas Lake Campground and took many photos of the ever changing weather over the lake and mountains. Sorry if you end up seeing a few too many....
Another nice set from you.
I am curious about the approximate location and altitude for the pikas and marmots. I still have plans to go to Yankee Boy Basin (I know, a little late) and would like to know if I will be in the general area. I have no shots of marmots or pikas yet and would like to try for some.

Thanks DougS. I have known about the general area and already figured the road would be a four wheel drive road. My idea was to check in with the National Forest Service and see about hiking up, camping overnight, and then hiking down. I realize I am 73 and not 35 and such a hike will not be done in a day anymore (at least I don't plan it that way anymore). I know that pikas and marmotstend to be altitude located and I am not familiar with the area. I have already been in the Lake City area and had to leave my Prius behind on the main dirt road while walking the jeep road (while being passed by many ATV and jeeps). It will be interesting and fun to take on a new area

If the weather cooperates you’ll be able to get some beautiful pictures up there regardless of the time of year.

Thanks. I am looking forward to the hike. And weather is always a "roll of the dice" out here in Colorado. Just no hurricanes out here.
