When my Canon Canoscan 8600 died (fluorescent tube failure after 15 years), I tried the Epson V600. The interface was TERRIBLE compared to the Canon (I returned it). I finally found a Canoscan 8800F (LED), reportedly unused (but missing the negative holders) on eBay for a good price (this was 5 years ago). You will need to install a TWAIN driver, however no problems there even with photoshop (I am using PS-CS6, no cloud subscriptions for me) and Acrobat 10 Pro (I have no need for more). I run this on Win-11, Intel i9, 32 GB RAM, over USB 2.0. I have scanned large format negatives (my mom - age 16 - circa 1942 - she is still living as of this post) at fairly low res (1200 DPI) compared to what is available (4800x9600dpi). I have a Microtek ScanMaker i900. It was used for a short time in a university micro-biology lab. Since then I have used it to scan 35mm slides as well as negatives and positives of all sizes. I used it last with Windows 11 but have switched to an iMac. and no longer need it (I'm 87 years old) and do little high resolution scanning. I will send you pictures of all that is included in the package, including holders for 35mm slides (12 at. time) up tp large prints. I also have the 71 page User's guide. IM me for more info.
