Since you want a comment, here is one:

The cats are out of wack compared to each other. One seems to be a kitten, the other an adult. The issues:
- No proportion is kept
- Head is way smaller as an adult, despite the kitten being placed behind the adult
- Adult is small compared to the younger version (see head size comment)
- Adult has closed cornea indicating bright lights, the kitten on the other hand indicates low light conditions.

Composite errors:
- Light sources do not match
 - Front right for the cats and high
 - Front right on the woman but also reaches the left side of the dress, revealing details
- All subjects are floating
- Depth of field, sharpness is different cats have extreme details and rest is soft.
 - The female model does not fit the scene. It seems that she is meant as a goddess, princess or sorceress of some sort but represented as mundane. (Clothing and headgear clues)
- Repeated pattern between the cats and the model.
- All objects are floating (composite error)

The title does not reflect the image content. There is no potential conflict or disagreement in the image offered. Your scene is not a desert, but an arid area where only hardy plants thrive. I have been in deserts and trust me there are no plants, just seeds: plants grow and die in a sort period of time. There are no trees, grass or cactus, just sand or stones unless it is an oasis.

Personal appreciation:
I do not like the bleak aspect of this work. I have noted that every time you offer something, this mood seems to be dominant.

Personal note, to you:
You seem to have a heavy chip on your shoulder on many threads and comments, it does not matter where you post.
This comment is a critical analysis of your work using both an AI creation and a composite of your images.
When I look at an image, I look at the 'Wow!', not the details, as I did here. I do not comment when something leaves me cold or is repetitive.

Surprise, I agree with some of your comments even though they seem to have personal animus overtones.

I do choose to comment directly on one of your statements. I have lived in the Sonoran Desert for 30 of my 80 years. That is exactly what portions of the desert look like. I know because I took that photograph myself.

I'm sorry you don't like my attitude but I don't like yours either. That seems to be one thing we can agree on.

Regards,
Curmudgeon

From someone who does not seem to post pictures often and the only ones I have seen are not very good your comments on Curmudgeon's composite I think are totally uncalled for. I have read what Curmudgeon wrote and did not find anything that asked for any comments on his work. He obviously enjoys doing this kind of imaging and while some may not be quite correct (and there are a lot on here which are not quite correct not just his)so does this matter if the person creating a composite has enjoyment in doing so without it being ripped to bits as you have done. Apart from anything else it keeps the mind occupied and the grey matter from stagnating. All I can say is keep on with the good work Curmudgeon... One question for you Rongnongno, do you do any composites as you seem to pull lots of peoples work to bits which can be very demoralising if someone has done their best and are pleased enough with their work to post it..

I also think your personal appreciation comments were totally uncalled for as I take it you do not know Curmudgeon personally given where you both live.

Crikey Jack, you’re drumming up some contentious response lately! I understand Val’s protective response to Ron’s comments - but while you don’t specifically ask for critique, you and I have exchanged it often and kept civil with it. Whilst critique is by definition criticism, it doesn’t have to have, and should not have, any nastiness within it. Constructive criticism is what we all need in order to improve and Ron’s comments do contain plenty - ignore the rest, it’s irrelevant. Now, is critique welcome in this section in the same way it is in Digital Artistry? I hope so.

Yes. I despise the oooh-aaah seen in many sections.

You have the right to your opinion.

Of note, of late this user has been criticizing this section for not having 'comments' on his posts. I accept all form of criticism, but when it is repeatedly directed and pointed toward getting a reaction, any reaction, I get tired of it.

He is looking for attention and basically kudos, which I avoid giving, I have to be seriously impressed by an image to comment on anything.

Hey, Jack, as long as you had fun doing this composite then don't worry about the critisim. Most of us enjoy your work.

We agree there Ron, I just don’t look at Photo Gallery posts unless they have been put there by someone I follow elsewhere.

What I thought I was saying is that the site is not well enough known to rate many visits. One of the reasons I post composites is to get constructive criticism to help me improve. Two things I don't need on this journey are: No views and destructive criticism. All of us have egos, some larger than others, and fluff comments help stroke that ego and let us know we are not posting into a vacuum.

I guess I need to clarify something. Since I have been playing with AI I have posted one, and only one, AI image that was not part of a composite. Maybe we need to add another acronym to our vocabulary, SOOAI--Straight Out OF Artificial Intelligence

Jack, I am not fond of AI. It certainly can be useful in some cases and FUN, but I think this is cute. I also think that YOU are not the Curmudgeon here!
I KNOW for sure that kindness is a easy, even in critiques.
I say ignore anything that is not kind! I still like my dad's saying "Be kind or be quiet!" So there!

Thanks for the kind post and your dad's wisdom. I think he and my dad would have liked each other
