What are you talking about??????? I for one, have not seen ANY "snapshots" posted here! What you are seeing are, lighted, posed studio shots, as opposed to outdoor, posed natural light shots. If you are such a GREAT critic of what is a snapshot and what is not, why don't you post some of your work!!!

Studio or outdoors makes no difference on whether quality photos or not - just different genres - but if you don't think any snapshots have been posted here, well you apparently are a GREAT "critic" as long as it has bare boobs. Where are your postings in this section?

My photography/videography these days is mainly travel, I haven't shot nudes for over 50 years, so kind of hard to post here.

The images capture the essence of erotica. Great photographs.

Just curious, Chuck… what for you distinguishes erotica from porn?

And, please, I am NOT saying this post is porn! I am just asking the question, because I agree this image is erotica. It’s an academic question looking for academic sober discussion.

I searched on Google and found a few interesting articles. Here is an excerpt from one of them:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/evolution-of-the-self/201104/what-distinguishes-erotica-from-pornography

“There's substantially more overlap between the aesthetic and the erotic than the erotic and the pornographic. Unquestionably, erotica and pornography both present the human organism in a manner that's sexually compelling. But the aim of the pornographer is hardly to help his or her (most likely his) audience rejoice in the human form—or in some way honor physical intimacy, or the joys of the flesh. Rather, the objective (typically leaving little or nothing to the imagination) is to "turn on" the viewer. It's less evocative or suggestive than exhibitionist. The unabashed goal is simple and straightforward: titillation and immediate, intense arousal (skip the foreplay, please!). Or, to put it even more bluntly, an instantaneous stirring of the genitals.”

Hey John, first, thank you for your comments. Second, I read Dr. Seltzer's article from start to finish...It is well worth reading. It actually put meaning into words. The difference between the SENSUAL and the PORNOGRAPHIC is so glaring. I am so glad you posted that article.

The images shown, (3) to me, are, totally sensual, and NOT according to Dr. Seltzer's definition, in any way pornographic!!!

The post from smf85 titled “The Lovers” is another wonderful example of erotica.

Interesting comments, and I somewhat agree. I would suggest you can enjoy erotica with your mate. Poronography is not close to being real.
