I gather that you weren’t up close & personal with your 50mm for these great shots. So what body/zoom was your go to?
I used my Canon R5 and 100-500. On the platform you can not take a tripod and I was not going to lug my 600mm around and hand hold. Also the versatility of being able to zoom in and out was great. The R5 with 45mp allows for a good crop as well. The bears were reasonably close at times, like 6 feet away right below you and 10 feet if they were right at the shore line. We were on a raised platform 10 feet high maybe.
Nice shots! Glad you enjoyed the trip. I have hiked all over the place and not gotten a good shot of a Ptarm ! 600 on the platforms would be really tight so the zoom worked best for you. Never know when the salmon will show up and they were late this year. I tell people it is not 'If" it will rain or even "when" but "how many times today".
