Went to South Africa, Sabi Sands, about 6 years ago. Thinking of going again, anyone have any suggestions of tour offers?

My recommendation would be to consider the Serengeti rather than S Af.

I suggest you consider the Serengeti. But if you insist on SA we
Had a great safari at Madikwe. Cape Town was great….wineries, culture, history, penguins, great whites.

We went to southern Africa in 2015. We could not find a tour that we liked. Instead we used African Travel Resources and they designed a tour specifically for us based upon what we wanted to do and then arranged all of the travel plans. It worked perfectly.
Next year we are going to the Serengeti on a photo safari with Backcountry Journeys.

I agree with the votes for Serengeti. I just returned from two weeks in Tanzania and Kenya. Visited Serengeti, Amboseli, Ngorongoro, and Masai Mara. All were spectacular. Since you've already been to South Africa, suggest you try east Africa to see the differences. . . IMHO.

We have used https://www.sunworld-safari.com/en/ for a number of years in several different countries, and are headed back this September. We start in South Africa at Zimanga and then to Kenya. We do our own tours, have two great guides, and usually have two photographers per vehicle, and travel with friends. They will pick you up at the airport, take care of everything in between until they drop you at the airport. If you know how to use a camera and have some basic knowledge of wildlife photography you don't need a group or a tour-leader. The two guides we use are excellent photographers as well as nature guides.

If you are considering Serengeti, and you want max time on safari, you can fly right to Kilimanjaro airport, drive 1 hr to Arusha, catch a prop plane and be in center of the Serengeti by noon. You can do reverse, depart around 10am and fly back to US, departing at 5pm. frankmlemwa@gmail.com - a great resource and guide

I suggest you talk to Rikke Williams at go2africa.com. She does a great job working with your budget. She'll make suggestions you may not have considered, but ultimately make a lot of sense, e.g. on season/off season deals. She has put together two trips for my wife and me. The first trip was in 2008. We went to Capetown, and the wineland of Franschoek South Africa. We went on safari at Kruger National Park, while staying at a private reserve, Tinga, with its own elephant herd. Then, it was onto Zambia (Victoria Falls) and Zimbabwe. Our next trip, in 2018, reprised Franschoek, the Midlands (no safaris here), Rock Lodge at Phinda, all in S. Africa; the Okavanga Delta in Botswana, including Chobe National Park, where we've never seen larger herds and varieties of wildlife. We did a boat safari and watched the elephants and hipposfrolic in the water. Sounds crazy, but at Chobe, it looked like scene from The Lion King, as herd after herd marched along the entire hillside.
I'm sure you'll have a great trip. There are smiles, awe and amazement around every corner. Have a great trip.

South Africa is a beautiful country with so much more to see than majestic animals while on a safari. Sites include Cape Town, the drive along the East Cape Coast, Johannesburg, Durban beaches, the Western Cape, Namibia etc., etc. I love Tanzania. I have been to the Serengeti twice and will go a few more times in the next couple of years. They are very different trips, both are great. Don’t let anyone talk you into or out of either.
