The joy of photographing wild life is watching the stories play out. We submit an image which captures but a fractional second of the minutes long drama unfolding before us. Hopefully this image conveys the determination of the Red Wing to move the crane away from the nest. I watched this futile 5 minute interaction with a mixture sadness and admiration.

Great capture...I have noticed red wing black birds fight off larger birds often.
