With a name like Duensenberg you would think it was made in Germany, BUT no. It was built here in the good old USA.

Funny. On vacation one year, we were browsing through a Mercedes dealership. There was an olive-green model on the floor. The salesman came up to us and said he could give us a major discount on that. I asked why. "The color." Dealers must hate getting odd-colored cars that will be hard to sell.

The Duesenberg was the first American car to win a Grand Prix race, winning the 1921 French Grand Prix. Duesenbergs won the Indianapolis 500 in 1922, 1924, 1925 and 1927
