If any one remembers my intro, it was about my Photo teacher saying:
"going from a point/shoot to DSLR is like a Sex Change"
At the time of change My Kodak was sitting on the counter pouting.
I bought a Rebel Xsi 400D with lens that came with it.
**Nice New Body with a lens that moves in and out. Nice Start!
**Read the manual, again, again & again, I think it was written for the Docs that perform those types of surgery.
**Went to take pictures, hit that shutter button like a trigger and I swear I about filled the card up.
**Tried again, with a soft touch, and all those dots started blinking and the flash blinking, I jerk away like I was getting an <air puff test eye exam>. Worst part was I was trying to get a photo of my dogs face and I got 6 pics of his eyeball staring back at me..(shivers lol)
**Girlfriend Photographer flew up from New Mexico to rescue me and (suppose to teach me) brought me a 75-300 1.4-5.6 lens I could have. Surgery going well. Understanding what was happening? not so good!
**Padron, shortened the daylight hours of learning -luxury brand of tequila produced in Mexico (her fault not mine)
**Ok, neighbor sold me a Ef 300mm1:4 L IS (200 bucks)
**Finally I said I'm going to just use the burst mode, took my dogs to the park and sat down to try it...well it took great pics of <Ajza> running! until..see pic..<Boom> thats all it took for me to go flying, camera, purse, and you can see she is wet as well! (camera and lens saved) Body sling for camera is ordered.
Hummm so here is the million dollar question: 60 days until the Yukon Quest, another 1000 mile race in AK, I will be at:
**To stay Auto or within that side with the cute figures or continue to try the other side with a monitor that looks like "mapquest"
ps..the Kodak is laughing at me now...
Remember Im still in Pre-school with Photography but I want learn! Go ahead and beat me up-I can take it!!
Great looking photo of a happy friend
In between all the confusion of the tale, I do need basic help to convince me the Lenses I have fit the rebel and If its worth it to take all this to Alaska to try out even though I dont understand it all.
Guess My lil Kodak will be laughing all the way with me...
