Beautiful photos of by far the best looking of the three, followed very closely by the '56 with the '57 a distant third. The '58 actually slots in between the '56 and '57 but isn't counted in the tri-fives.

Now that you mention it up, you're right, it's a 210, and I just missed it. Nice catch. Same body style and trim in any case.

I owned a '55 Chevy 210 back in the late '50s, and as I remember all the 210s had a center pillar on the side windows. This Chevy lacks the window pillars, so I believe that it is a Bel Air that has been slightly customized. The Bel Air marque may have been removed. The custom wheels attest to customization also.

On Kim's recent post of a '56 BelAir, there was a comment that the '56 was so much better looking than the '55. Well...I'm not so sure.

Nice car.

The original here may be slightly customized but Chevy did have a hardtop 210 for '55. Here are two fine examples. By the way, you can put me on the list for liking 55's the best of the tri-5's.

That might be either a 210 or a 150, But I do agree there should be "Bel Air" on the rear Quarter Panels.

It's definitely not a 150, as you can see a hardtop wasn't offered, in this quote from wikipedia. It doesn't have "Bel Air" insignia because it's not a Bel Air, it's a 210 coupe.

The above 1955 is kind of an anomaly in that it is sporting things from different series.

One Fifty (150)
The most basic and lowest priced option in the range. No side chrome was offered except for the Chevrolet script on the side fender.

Two-Ten (210)
Next in line was the 210 and it was a little more glitzy. Side chrome was more evident in the form of a side spear on the rear fenders.

Bel Air
At the top of the line sat the Bel Air. In addition to the rear side spears that were seen on the 210, the Bel Air also sported a front fender/door spear (that the above car doesn't have, which makes it a 210,2-dr hardtop Sport Coupe) and model nameplates and Chevrolet crest located just behind the slanting vertical chrome slash. In addition the rear spear was painted in the middle.

I personally like all three years & even owned 2 57's, a Bel Air two-door hardtop sport coupe and a 210 sedan four-door.

HMM. It's probably a 210 but don't know that I ever saw a 210 hardtop. Wonder if it is a powerglide with a push button radio. As I guy born in '43 I love this car and everything GM made in those years.

I agree 100%. The 55 has always been my fav, partly because of the nice straight lines, but mostly because of the grill.

My down the road buddy Kent Perkins has Steve McQueens 57 Bel Air convertible. It can not hold a candle to the 55 cars. And I love the 57.

I like both the '55 and the '56 cars. We owned a '56 when I learned to drive, and the guy who was my first real love had a '55.
