I don't use lightroom for a multitude of reasons. I use Adobe bridge and camera raw. I want to use Luminar, primarily for sky replacement. I have Luminar 4, got it when LR and I were friends. Is it true that it only works with LR? I tried to open it from bridge but I get the triangle with exclamation point. Any help, advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Luminar works without LR. You don't need any Adobe products for it to work.
From Bridge you can "Reveal in Explorer" and open it from there in anything you have. Right?
I am going to try to include a screenshot. When I open as a stand alone, I go through steps to upload pic from external drive. It is black with triangle and exclamation point.
I don't know where to find this. I have a Mac.
I think you will need to upgrade to Luminar Neo and then you will be able to right click to open with Luminar Neo. I have both on my Mac M1 and when I right click only Neo show up.

I store my data on an external drive too. I have commented to the Skylum team that the catalog part of their program is flaky when you use an external drive. The response I got at the time was that they don't recommend using an external drive with Luminar. I never got a full explanation of why. I don't know for sure if using an external drive is contributing to your problem but to test if that is a possibility, I would park the photos you want to process directly on your main hard drive and see if doing so improves the behavior.

I have photos stored on external hard drives and I have had no problems with Luminar uploading photos. I have used it on a MAC and PC.

Like I said, it is flaky. It can work sometimes. Experience can vary depending probably on what you are doing. Last night, I did actually have an issue where Luminar would not export a JPEG. Could have something to do with complex masking and/or stacking, I am not exactly sure but, I do know it is not reliable.
I couldn't get Luminar 4 to work and didn't want to buy Nero. So I learned sky replacement in photoshop. Easy to use and very effective. Now I want to aquire more skies. Any advice?
