Excellent response.
Some of us actually know what and how our lenses work from experience rather than collect them.
Even so, photography as a hobby, is ultimately, an art of collection.

In Tucson definitely go to San Xavier.

Not too far away is the Saguaro National Park (West section) and the Sonora Desert Museum. The name might be Tucson Mountain District (TMD) is often referred to as Saguaro West. I have found that early morning light is better for Saguaro west. You can easily spend a whole day visiting all three of these three locations with the kission at at the end of the day and maybe sunset too.

One of my shots from Saguaro National Park , West Section, near Tucson, Arizona. Cactus flowers blooming atop a 50 foot high Saguaro Cactus attracting bees. The State Flower of Arizona.

I am potentially planning a mid-late September journey from Indiana to Phoenix, heading southwest to Frisco, Texas (family), on to Carlsbad Caverns NP, to White sands NP, and then to Phoenix, probably stopping again at San Xavier near Tucson.

What other photogenic stops along the way might I make? Suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, John.

Are you returning from Phoenix by car? If so, what route back to Indiana?

BTW I live in Grapevine, Texas, not far from Frisco, Texas.

Cheers

If you have the time coming back to do more in Arizona, then yes do Sedona, then Flagstaff to see Route 66, and onto Page, Arizona for Horseshoe Bend and the Colorado River, and also in Page, Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon, then over to Monument Valley on the Arizona/Utah border.

1) The Red Rocks of Sedona and the Enchantment Resort and Spa with Brooke. H.

2) Horseshoe Bend and the Colorado River, Page, Arizona.

3) Upper Antelope Canyon, Navajo lands, Page, Arizona

4) Environmental Scientist Brooke H., in a slot canyon near Upper Antelope Canyon, Navajo lands, Page, Arizona

5-6) Lower Antelope Canyon, Navajo Lands, Page, Arizona

7-10) Monument Valley, Navajo Lands, Arizona/Utah border

Cheers and best to you. Have a great trip.

We have stayed in Patagonia, a nice bird refuge there, and Nogales to see the border wall. Going N toward Tuscon, you will come to Tumacacori National Park and the beautiful church and other historic buildings, along I-19, then Tubac just north and then on to Tucson. If you have time, we have enjoyed the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument West of Tuscon.

John...two places that I have enjoyed: 1. Three Rivers Petroglyph Site in SE New Mexico provides numerous opportunities for some amazing shots (Large boulders on a 40 acre ridge with over 20,000 petroglyphs; and 2) Taliesin West outside of Phoenix. Frank Lloyd Wright's beautiful and unique winter compound also has some wonderful photo opportunities. Have a great trip! Tom McC, McQueeney, Texas.

Why do people feel a little desperate need to post their photos by the dozens on someone else's post?

You are always free to ignore all my posts and just move on. Simple to do, even for you.

This isn't your post.
You are just using it to post your own photos that are irrelevant except self promotion of mediocre photos at best.
