I didn’t say we should. I was just commenting on what I read.

Much/most streaming today is free or almost free. I think this is just the preliminary. I think this is just the "warmer up for high prices to come". Time will tell.

Sorry. I wasn't aiming at the messenger! 😳

I believe that the proper term for what is going on with TV is "devolving"! (Maybe even "devilution"? 👹)

Yes, that's a good word for it. Minimal expense and maximal income.

Oops! I just realized that some stupid comments could send this to The Attic. Let's try for some self-control.

If the alien thinks our TV is weird, wait 'til he sees what's on the Internet!

Maybe that's why they never landed and introduced themselves.

The writers strike is a Godsend. I don't need to watch most of the garbage the networks put out as entertainment today. I watch reruns from the 50s and 60's and think it's far superior. I watch shows like Burkes Law, The Saint, Route 66, 77 Sunset Strip, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Combat, Black Sheep Squadron, and so on. (Can't remember them all) I don't watch or miss any of the new cr%p.

If it weren't for NCIS, FBI, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy, I would have no use for broadcast tv.
We watch some sports channels, C-SPAN, some movies, tons of PBS, Netflix, and Prime... and not much else, other than a daily dose of YouTube topics. Cable is a wasteland of commercials and tired crap from the distant past. Local news has become national propaganda and chit-chat.
Network TV has lost a lot of its effectiveness. It had to! When there were just 3-4 networks, with 3-4 channels in a broadcast market, advertising revenue supported lavish productions. But when cable has hundreds of channels, and YouTube has millions of channels, monetizing broadcast and cable content is difficult.

Yes, unfortunately. I can't think of the last time I watched broadcast TV.
I watch the H and I network. Stands for heros and icons. Gunsmoke, Wanted dead or alive, wagon train, paladin, you get the idea. Lol
