When you see a sign like this, on public display, you know you need to move further south.

I prefer northern climates.

When it’s cold you can put more clothes on.

When it’s hot there’s a limit to how much you can take iff.

And not just a social limit.

Sure sign that the building needs more insultion in the attic? 😁 Or someone didn't want to pay for the architect to add "deflectors" (whatever they are called) to the design? Of course, it would be quite humorous if that building housed a law firm...

People around here don't need signs like that. that sign must be for tourists.

Wisely said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.”

For really really hot weather pretty much all clothing is inappropriate. So that kind of defines the lower temperature limit of bad weather.

An island like that, surrounded by water, will have a temperature source/sink that drastically reduces temperature changes (although they do get snow on the peaks). I worked with a guy who spent 10 years on Fiji. He reported that when the temperature was 5F up, it was hot, and when it was 5F down it was cold. That 10F range was the annual temperature range.

It's all in what you get used to.

I used to have a meeting in SFO in December. Almost everyone who attended the meeting was in shirtsleeves. All the natives wore down jackets.

I went to a meeting in Albuquerque in August one year. Temperature was 105F. They had to heat the pool. Evaporative cooling would have kept everyone out (or limited their dips to VERY short duration unless they were accustomed to saunas and jumping into ice water).

Seeing a sign like that makes me feel fortunate that I live where there are distinct seasons. Sometimes we need to be reminded because it is winter maybe you should not park or walk like it is summer.

My wife got snowed in at work. When she finally made it home, she asked to move to Phoenix metro. We did, but last month I'd wished we hadn't.

One February, years ago, coming home from FL, we landed at JFK during a significant snowstorm. We couldn't back upstate for three days. That was quite a change from FL.

There are boots to keep your feet warm in -20 degree weather. There are insulated coats that will do the same. However, no matter how many clothes you take off, THAT won't cool you off in the heat of AZ.
