1st attempt at shooting the sport. My tamron 70-200 g2 had slow focus issues so most of these were shot with the 300mm 2.8.

Shooting from the stands. Some are heavily cropped. Any input would be welcome.

Also if anyone has had slow focus issues with the tamron 70-200 g2. I would definitely like to know how you resolved it.

Thanks (btw it’s my 1st post of photos)

Nice shots.
If your having focus problems, treat the lens as a manual focus and just pre focus on a spot the subject will pass by. Use a slightly smaller aperture to increase depth of field for a better chance to have them in focus

Wow you shot those like a pro. I see nothing wrong with the focus or any other part of the images. Your post processing is spot on. Well done set

You caught those beautiful horses sailing over the obstacles. Wonderful set.

SPEC-tacular! 300 f/2.8 lenses rock! Might your Tamron 70-200 or camera body need a firmware update?

Thank you. I’m going to put the tamron on the tap-in console and check tonight.

You guys are right about treating it a a manual focus lens. First half of the day I was trying to track the horse and rider. But I got better results moving ahead focusing on the jump and waiting for the action. Duh.

Old school is the best school.

I think your first attempt produced some medal winning shots!

Great shots. I'm surprised you could get those from the stands. Nicely frozen action.

Love your timing where you caught the horse rared up at the start of the jump.

Great shots. Good perspective. Great timing. Your focus looks dead on to me. (When I did this, I always tried to focus on the horse's nose.) The riders should be really happy with these images.

Very, very nice! I’m not a horse person but I certainly appreciate the grace and showmanship of both horse and rider! Nice work.
