That's a good question. It looks like it may have the Chevrolet logo on the front- could it be an add on AC unit?

Nice.
This is what a car dash should look like.

The think hanging down under the dash is an aftermarket AC. The glove box is between the bucket seats. I can not recall the name of his company, but an engineer for Consolidated Aircraft named Holt Hickman supposedly invented the aftermarket AC here in Fort Worth and made a jillion dollars with it.
As 15 year old kid I was working in a mom and pop grocery as the only employee in Fort Worth and they bought a new Impala. It had factory air, power steering, power brakes, power windows, the works. Blue. Coolest car ever at that time. V8 of course. Wow those were hot times. For this car to come along right after the '57 was really something.

They certainly don't. I never liked those silly rectangular speedometers. The should always be round.

In the sense that all the gauges are analog, I agree. I have come to despise the touch controls and LCD screens on my current car.

Not a 58 Impala, I had one and this is not a 58 dashboard. Not sure what year it is.

I miss color for the interior of cars. Every manufacturer wants to push "Charcoal" or something dark. The last car I had was so dark. I told the dealer to find me something with a lighter interior. The next year, they came out with an interior that was a dark tan, much lighter than the black of the charcoal. I immediately went to the dealer and came back with the new car. But red, blue and other real pretty colors are just history.
