Eastern Airlines has a great history, once run by Eddie Rickenbacker. It changed hands several times, and now, it flies just once a month. The FAA requires an airline to fly at least once a month, and that's what Eastern does. Once a month, it flies from Miami to Santo Domingo. This is an odd business plan.

This is a little misleading. The original Eastern Airlines was kaput as of 1991. Dynamic Airways, a charter airline, bought the rights to use the name in 2018. They have over a dozen wide bodied planes. You are right in that they have only one active route.
This reminds me of all of the "Bell and Howell" products you see advertised online. Someone bought the rights to use the name. Now they're selling things like flashlights instead of movie cameras and projectors.

A co-worker and I had a lengthy layover in Atlanta on our way to Little Rock. Mr Benton was al older fella with a dry sense of humor. After awhile he remarked that he was convinced Eastern Airlines Stewardesses had the best looking uniforms. We had a good laugh.

Anyone truly interested in aviation should check out the books of Robert Serling. He has excellent works on many of the major carriers plus other associated works. Really excellent reading. His brother also did fairly well for himself, Rod Serling.

Exactly. Eastern was my very first venture into the stock market. Lol. I obviously lost on that one. Lol lol.
