I use my iPhone for everything from vacation photos to photos of ads, addresses and even phone numbers...a great little tool for taking photos of things you don't have the time, over even a pencil/pen, to write down.

I would always want to use my camera but don’t always have it with me cell phone can work for some photographs it is a camera judging a photograph on what camera was used is not what photography is about

Rick Sammon's wife has used her phones for years. He is the photographer, she is his companion.
What totally surprised me, is their last trip to Morocco, he only used his cell phone.

The camera on the cell phone or iPad is a useful tool. I use it at work to take a photo of part numbers to look up in the IPC (illustrated parts catalog). The techs use photos to record the steps on how something is taken apart so that it can be reassembled in the correct sequence. Also damage is photographed and attached to log pages so the damage can be evaluated. Paint condition is photographed to aid in scheduling the aircraft in for paint refurbishment, so as you can see there are many uses for a cell phone or iPad camera.

I use my camera phone to record my finished leather projects, this not only gives me a record of what I did it also shows what designs/patterns I used. I don't have the room to set up a studio to use a DSLR to photograph my leather projects. Sometimes I will photograph the project from concept to completion, especially if I will be starting and stopping on the project.

Good Grief!!! It is hard to imagine HOW and WHY you would even think any of us might care about how vehemently you do not want to use your cell phone as a camera. My only thought when reading your quite adamant post was, OK. That is about all the care and feeling I could muster up at the time. Now after thinking about it for a few seconds, I am still thinking, OK, but then wondering why you think anybody cares what you do, EVER. Must be an ego thing maybe where you think we ALL ponder what you are doing and thinking throughout the day.

I know what you mean. I find a phone very awkward for taking pictures. I have to hold it out in front of me, yet it must be kept steady. I have to keep my fingers away from the lens. I have to continue holding it steady while I maneuver a finger to the shutter button. I must admit that cell phones do take very good quality pictures, though.
