I had 123MB of images, seventy pictures, to upload. Since Google Photos was getting near my free limit, I thought I'd upload them to Amazon Photos. That took hours, and I couldn't see an easy way to rearrange them after they were uploaded, so I switched to Google Photos. They all uploaded in a few minutes, and I was able to rearrange them. That's a major difference in uploading time. At first, I was going to upload the full-size images, but that was taking twenty minutes per picture on Amazon, so I cut them down to 1500px on the long side.
Strange, I'm an Amazon Prime (unlimited photo space) user in the UK and I haven't noticed any real delays in uploading?
I don’t think it’s Amazon. I upload all my photos there, full size, 25+mb, have over 50,000 uploaded. The fact that I can’t rearrange them in an album is the most frustrating part of Amazon Photos, but I find it a very useful part of being Prime. Currently uploading 1,000+ from an Arctic trip.

You can create Albums in Amazon?

That's odd. I'll have to try it again.
It took fourteen minutes to upload a 10.3MP JPEG to Amazon. It took five seconds to upload it to Google.

Yes, but it looks like you can't rearrange the pictures, as you can with Google. I find it odd that Google arranges the images randomly. I usually number them 01, 02, etc., but they are arranged randomly on the screen.

Both arrange by EXIF date though Google Photos does have slightly more options...

Interesting. Why aren't consecutive pictures arranged consecutively? Mine are totally random.
Amazon Photos arranges by date. You can't change it. You could change a date, but what a pain that would be.

I guess it depends on which date it and you are looking at? Each picture contains EXIF information which may include, date originally taken, date modified, date scanned etc etc. You can only really work out what is happening by opening the "i" button and looking for yourself as you scroll through.
It's also possible that you have fallen foul of a bug in Google Photos, that seems to affect some albums but not others.

...and it's always oldest first in albums... Whereas you get a choice between date taken and date uploaded (newest appear first) in the main Amazon Photos section...
There's also still a bug in Amazon Photos in Windows 10/11 browsers that shows 'yesterdays' pictures as today... I have reported that to Amazon but... The Android and Apple Apps do not show this problem, reporting days correctly.
