I took the L300 with me to the airshow August 25th 2018 in Dallas. These images are from our precious B17 we lost this past November. I did take images with my D200 but I want to show what a cheap ass camera can give you.
Strap on enjoy the ride, more to come.

My father-in-law was a gunner/radio operator on the B-17 and was shot down over Yugoslavia, was captured by the Germans and was a prisoner-of-war. He and my mother-in-law returned in 1986 to the town where he stayed until he was captured. It's quite a story and he was quite a guy. He just passed 4 years ago at the age of 95. A terrific man!

The only thing more amazing that the B-17 is the courage of the men who flew them.

My Dad was a B17 pilot. He flew 30 missions over Germany out of Bassingborne England. 91st Bomb Group.

The only thing better than your photos, would be a ride in one of these.

Indeed. I also had the pleasure of flying in one. It was the " Nine-0-Nine" from the Collins foundation. It was lost a couple of years ago in a crash.

Great set of close-ups. I'm beginning to think I love old vintage things too much. Is that a B-24 I see in one photo???
