My wife and I have been watching the Dalgleish series remake on Acorn TV. Outstanding. Acorn is available on Direct TV. I'm not sure about Dish. If not, I know it can be streamed separately.

Its a great series. And ACORN is worth every penny of its monthly charge
Another long running series to watch is Vera

Totally agree. We saw Vera on PBS. I'll have to check to see if there are additional episodes that were not shown. That happened with Doc Martin. Our PBS station stopped showing it and we missed out on the last three series until we got Acorn. It was nice to see how they finished the series off. Another series that it carries is Happy Valley. We say the first two series of it but not the third. Acorn has the third. If you haven't seen Happy Valley, it's well worth your time.

Acorn has lots of very good series. I find it worthwhile for $70/year.

That Dalgliesh actor is very good. I watched the original Dalgliesh series years ago - also good. Looking over this assortment, they offer excellent viewing.

You probably noticed the clothing in "Murdoch." It's set around 1900, and everyone looks like they're wearing brand new clothing.

Have you seen the Murdoch movies? I think there were two of them - different actors than on the TV series.

Also, have you noticed that the lead woman (I forget her name) often begins a sentence with a little sound, almost like clearing her throat?

Now that we've finished Doc Martin and Dalgleish, we've been going through Foyle's War again. We're now in the post-war portion of the series, which may be even better than the war period. The whole series is great. Very well written and Michael Kitchen is great as Foyle.
