Two Cameras are Better than One

My ukulele group played for forty-five minutes at a local Street Fair yesterday. One of the group used an audio recorder and two cell phones to record video of the group. Only one cell phone worked. Moral of the story - Two is better than one. Okay, now you have an excuse to buy another camera, just in case.

Sounds like an excuse to buy another cell phone rather than another camera. It was the cell phone that broke, right? No excuse is needed to ever buy another camera. Want equals NEED.

The non-working camera belonged to the one doing the shooting and editing. The one I gave her is a spare - Moto 6G ($45). My son's broken phone is just a glass screen problem. I bought a new screen for $12, and I'll install that someday. He bought a new Moto g Pure for $45, so he now has a spare, too. TracFone has been great for us.

If you have the need, why not three. My current Sony A7RIV, A1, A7SIII. I also have a small DJI action cam. I have a half-dozen mics, including on camera boom, off camera wireless. My smartphone is just a backup. This photo was made with my Samsung smartphone.

Cheers and best to you.

Funny, that picture reminded me that I have a double-plate similar to yours. I just can't bring myself to shoot video with a "still" camera. There's was someone at yesterday's event using a DSLR-type of camera with an external mic to shoot video for online.

Will that "failed" phone still record real music ? Maybe it has AI that protects it from ukes ... sorta an "uklear deterant" based on mutually assured destruction.

"I just can't bring myself to shoot video with a "still" camera." ???
If you'd shot Vid with a Panny GH4 or later I doubt you would ever use anything else.
(Not that I do Vid - but I've seen the results).

If you shoot video as infrequently as I, it’s much cheaper to use the DSLR than to spend big bucks on a video rig.

I wouldn’t use a DSLR for video but I no longer have any DSLR’s. All of my mirrorless shoot great video.

You can shoot 2 (or more) cameras at a time (see above example), but can you play more than one ukulele at a time?

Video, please. With audio.
