I got a surprise delivery from UPS yesterday. My Z8 was returned from Nikon. I say "surprised," because there was no advance notice from Nikon. I haven't looked at the small amount of paperwork yet, but I'm glad to have it back. I it to them on June 26.

It is good to see Nikon moving so quickly to remedy this problem. Enjoy your new camera, Jerry!!

Check your strap lugs. There are reports that they fall off.

I had two of the Olympus cameras. Luckily, I don't use the strap lugs; straps just get in the way when I want to use the camera.

Our Z8 took a whole 5 days from beginning of shipment to receipt at front door. The West Coast Service Center did a fantastic job. Looks brand new. We had just returned from Alaska when we sent it in. Fantadtic camera and great shots on trip. We feel whole again with its return.

Same experience and time line except notices were sent on receipt and shipping. Under two weeks was better than expected.

It was packed with a "Check Sheet" to indicate what was done. I'm glad they didn't check "Cleaned Mirror." 😁

If your rumor mongering had roots in reality then Nikon service would be so badly swamped that these rapid turn arounds would be out of the question.

OTOH do NOT ignore reports of skin cancer caused by the plasticizers in external rubber parts.

A little WD40 preempts any risk of that.
I have lost the URL but theres a tik-tok video to help you locate the shutter.

in 1970 our Chaplain had his parishioners send us WD40 to use on our M16's instead of the LSA supplied by Uncle Sam. WD40 kept our rifles working flawlessly in every kind of weather.

When people mention WD40 for any reason it brings back mostly good memories.

Sorry folks, just can't help myself.
