Does anyone know of an easy App for an Android phone that will make the background black. I saw someone use this feature on an I-phone and it makes the foreground "pop"
Mainly with portraits. I could use my m4/3 or my Sony 6000 but often the phone is the camera that I have with me
Thanks,
Arthur.

You could easily do it in the Lightroom Develop panel, then export as a JPG for your 'Droid.

I’m not aware of any feature on an iPhone that turns the background black. What there was a few months ago was a bug in the iPhone OS that did this.

It drove me nuts for months because I didn’t want this. Apple finally fixed it in an IOS update.

Thanks, but was hoping to do it "in house" ie on the phone without having to move pictures back and forth.

He could actually do it in Lightroom on his phone if he’s an Adobe subscriber.

Do you mean that you want an all black image that you can import to your phone and use as wallpaper?

Yes, that is kind of what I would like. Just put it in a different way.
I have seen shots of a flower where the background is black and it make the plant stand out. But this was done with lighting and aperture. I also saw this with a of my grand-daughter taken with an iPhone and just normal lighting.

No easy app. But can be done with Snapseed.

Or this might work too.

On an Android phone, try "Background Eraser" at
