I never could use Autocad because of the time using other programs. It wasn't as intuitive as other programs. I used CATIA V4, CATIA V5, Unigraphics NX, and other engineering design software. I still have copies of CATIA V5 and Unigraphics, but haven't installed them on a newer computer. Dassault, which owns CATIA requires you to be connected to the internet as they verify your subscription. CATIA has a $20k+ per seat cost, so bootleg copies are somewhat common. Solidworks is another product that is more affordable.
To your point, though. When I had to reload all my software from a dead laptop, the companies were more than happy to assist me in getting them to work. It was a "human touch" that was greatly appreciated. All our software is under the software license agreement which we check when installed. Check with product support, and escalate the issue if need be.

Oh if you are on the subscription license they will help you to get it running because if it doesn't run you would stop paying the bill.

So don’t move it onto a new computer. Why do you think that it’s the company’s responsibility to continue to upgrade their software to new systems, etc., for free? that’s not realistic, and makes no economic sense.

Nothing lasts forever.

I'm not a lawyer but it seems like there's a fundamental question here of what ownership means. What's to prevent a business from doing this with any product. What if I purchased a car but after a certain period of time the car's computer was programmed to prevent the car from starting unless I paid a monthly fee to the manufacturer? Where could this trend end?

I think that is already happening. I saw some place you need to pay a monthly fee to make the seat warmers work on a car you think you bought and own. Not starting, will be next! Or the warranty will be void if you do not allow the dealer to do the oil changes using their 'special' oil. The 'special' oil will only be available from the dealer at an exorbitant price.

I had heard that Toyota was going to charge for those premiums on a subscription basis such as seat warmers, seat A/C, etc. I hadn't heard that BMW, Mercedes, or Audi were charging for subscription yet in the US.
When I purchased my M5, I had all the accessories added. Telling me that what I purchased is only a subscription would be infuriating. I did, however, purchase a lifetime of Sirius/XM for $199.

Now again about the law. Since all the hardwares are already in the car and what if someone hacks the car and get those things to work without paying subscription is that legal?

It would probably void your warrantee.

Technically? No, not legal. Theft of services, just like circumventing a cable box.

Yeah but warranty is only for so long.

It would be a good argument. I don't think "theft of services" would apply. Likening a seat warmer to a directv cable subscription may be questionable.

I am no lawyer but the cable company doesn't sell you the cable box but the car company sells you the car. The fact is if your cable box dead you simply tell them to give you another they wouldn't charge you but not so with the car..

Do you have to sign an EULA when you buy a car?

Circumventing the box to get a pay channel... circumventing a seat warmer control to activate the seat warmer.
Still circumventing the system in either case.
Different media/system, doesn't matter, it's still circumvention of the system to get something that is an added cost (charge), for free.

But some people like to justify it being okay in certain cases.

What would you call it if someone figured out how to get their XM Radio to work without a subscription?
An added benefit?????

Here is another one:
When I bought my new car a few years ago it had a fancy security system on board. I was asked to sign up for a monthly subscription to make it work. When I refused...they took it to a security shop and disabled the system with a SIM card. The hardware is still in the car...I am sure I paid for it as part of the car but I am not allowed to use it.
