I mentioned my Kindle with an inoperative on/off switch. Well, I came up with a solution that's 90% effective. Most of the covers/cases for Kindles have magnets in them. These magnets put the Kindle to sleep when the cover is closed, and they wake it up when it's opened. I no longer have to plug it in to wake it up. The only downside is that I can't do a Printscreen because the power button is needed for that. So, if your Kindle develops a bad power switch, consider buying a case with a magnetic cover.
Better yet just buy a case in the first place.

I have cases for everything!
I suspect I removed the Kindle from the case when it began working unreliably, and I might have used the case for another Kindle.
