We spent a day floating the Blackfoot river located by Ovando MT. Weather wasn't great but we never did get rained on...so that was a plus. Caught some cutthroat trout, brown trout and a couple of small bull trout....all got released. Floated miles in 7 hours and had a blast with friends. Randy and I use river pontoons called Versa-Vessels and they are about 30 yrs old and have seen lots and lots of rivers, our friends had a 14 ft raft.
Got to see a small 2 yr old cinnamon/blonde black bear ...momma must have just kicked him out. Lots of eagles, osprey, geese and some type of duck that I don't know the name of. Saw one cow elk with a calf but we were moving to fast to get any good pics of her and the little one...but was fun to see them.
Downloads do look better and all were taken while floating...so not the sharpest.
Wonderful set. The landscapes are beautiful and the bear and ducks are great.

Really nice captures you got, Cindy. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of our country.

Terrific set of memories for you on this trip, but then again, you’re one of those people that appear to have turned living into an art form. Keep on paddling, Cindy. Tell your hubby we think he’s got a real “keeper” as far as you’re concerned 😉
Your duck in question is a female Common Merganser or Goosander (Mergus merganser). An exceptional set of photos. Fine work!

Excellent set Cindy. I could almost hear the water in your first landscape. Bear and birds were well captured also.
