Washing dishes. This is a common sight in many countries, but think of what that water must contain.


They wash their clothes in that water as well, then they wear them ... as do their infants. But what choice have they? One thing I got from all my travels is that I came to understand just how lucky I am.


She was washing herself. I learned that there were public baths of some sort, but most of the people could not afford them more than once in a while.


If you look back at my photos, you will notice that most of the folks were smiling as they worked. This woman certainly wasn't. Perhaps she overheard one of my jokes.


And this lady had a really inviting smile.
