Hi! I’ve posted a bunch of stuff mostly MACRO since I joined in may of 2022. Over the past year, I have specialized in what I call Hidden Images. This is images of the small, the fast and the left behind. The small is Macro and Close-UP; the fast is mostly hummingbirds(which have to be shot at 1/3200s and faster to stop their motion).
The left behind is mostly flowers that have died but are still beautiful. Flowers with thick petals(like daisies and dahlias) generally age like Sophia Loren and are still beautiful near total death. Flowers with delicate petals like Iris’, are very beautiful in their youth but turn brown and implode sort of like Geraldine Chapman and Bridgette Bardot.
I live on Mount Desert Island, Maine, having retired here from Pennsylvania in 2011. I am currently Secretary and adjunct VP of the MDI Photo Club, and club photographer for the Bar Harbor Garden Club. I am not award winning as I have never submitted any of my photos for awards(although occasionally they show up in the MDIslander newspaper). I did recently buy a 13 x 19 inch printer so that I could show my photos in larger size. The MDI Photo club has meetings on the 2nd Tuesday evening of the month in the fall/winter/spring via Zoom with interesting speakers from all over the country, as well as showing our asignment/outing/share photos for the month. Since its by Zoom, all are welcome to attend.
