Maybe to use the tractor motor as a generator to power machines when electricity was not available.

Just based on the steering mechanism alone, my bet it’s an old Farmall. I have no idea what would attach to the side mechanism by a ball.

Farmall F20 or F30 No clue as to the two side wheels. Must be for some kind of an attachment of some kind.

Doesn't look like a PTO (power takeoff) adaptor...think may be it might be a one of a kind!!
