While I have done Adobe Photoshop, it's been a long time. Since I am just getting back into this, I'd prefer to hold off on making a major investment.
I've been playing with some free programs, the last being Pixlr. There's so much on the web that it gets overwhelming, so I thought I'd throw it out to all of you to get your opinions.
Since I have a lot on my plate, I would prefer a solid program but one that doesn't involve a steep learning curve.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Trial Photoshop Elements or Skylum Neo.
Elements will re-open the door to the Adobe world of editing and Neo is a powerful editor that is exceptionally easy to learn and use.

Paint Shop Pro, IMHO, Bob.
Since you're already familiar with Photoshop, why not go with the $10 a month Adobe subscription?
Every program I've seen has made it easy to do the essentials: crop, set exposure, contrast, sharpness, and adjust tint. That's usually all most images need. It's when you get into the nitty gritty that the learning curve hits you. Every program is easy once you learn it. I could give you a dozen or more links, but I'm sure you've seen what's available. I recently moved from old LR 6 to Luminar Neo.
Read reviews and comparisons online.

i second warhorse's comment. LRC, the baby brother of PS, is included in the $10 /month subscription. it has come a long way with improvements. i bet most of us could use it alone for 75% of our photos. tons of free tutorials on youtube, of course.

So, LRC is LR Classic, I guess. I've seen that online a few times.
Look into ON1 or the Sklylum offerings.
What do you want to do with your photos? Asking to recommend an app only invites people to vote for what they've invested their time and money in. Know your camera, computer and interests would make this topic make a lot more sense.

I guess because it's been so long since I used it, I'm afraid I won't remember any of it—something to consider, so thanks.

What is it that you remember doing with the old Photoshop that you want to do again? Simple adjustments? Complex layering?
