I've purchased multiple items from MPB and had nothing but stellar results. Just recently I purchased a DSLR that had developed an issue. I chatted with Miguel who immediately expedited a replacement (or option for refund). Like new replacement in 4 days.
I've bought three lenses from MPB. All arrived in better than advertised condition, very promptly. I have no complaints.
One thing I've learned is that communications are key. When I've had issues with a vendor, I've calmly stated my situation in writing (email), and followed up with a phone call. When you talk with the right person, good things happen.

Kudos to MPB photo, I ordered a lens from them and it was at my house in 3 days, not only that the lens was listed in EX. Condition but it was like new and the packing was surpurp it was packed in a heavy duty box and the lens was in another box with more packing very professional . You could see that they came along way in there business. I would purchase from them again any time. AAAA++++ to MPB PHOTO, Jim Bianco
I have purchased four cameras in the past three years. All in excellent or like new condition. Very satisfied.
I also purchased a lens from them. Better than advertised condition, $1000 less than advertised on B&H and less than most listed on eBay. I received multiple emails from them double checking address, etc. Received a phone call from a customer service rep to double check order (it was an expensive lens). They walked me through delaying my delivery from Fed Ex as I wasn't going to be home on 1st predicted delivery day. I would purchase again from them without doubt!

Iβve had a number of very satisfactory transactions with them. Only one issue (missing power supply for a battery grip). Got nowhere with the customer service rep, but her manager fixed it immediately. Iβd have no qualms about buying from them again.

Iβve bought and sold a few times with MPB. My only issue was during COVID when they had personnel problems and literally shut down so they could catch up. During that period, I was patiently (?) waiting for an order. When I came to a point where I felt βthis is taking too damn long,β I googled their customer service telephone number, called them, got an explanation by a rep who didnβt hurry me, and the lens showed up a few days later. Without exception, when Iβm choosing to do business that involves the likes a buy/sell company, they are my first stop.

Interestingly there is another current UHH thread with a sad story from another customer of MPB where they totally failed him in a big way.

Cheers and best to you.
That might be why I don't sell my old equipment to commercial dealers. I have had little troubles buying new or used equipment from the highly rated retailers.
I never bought anything from them but wanted to trade a Canon ef100mm f2 macro lens for an rf mount and their offer was extremely low. Wasn't worth the trade.
I hear you Jim. I have had numerous transactions with MPB. Each time the gear was exactly as described and delivery was quick. My last purchase was a like new Nikon 70-200 f/4 for $550. I sure could not tell it from new.
I have bought 2 lenses from them. they were delivered in a timely way and the products worked just fine, at a fair price. I will deal with them again for sure.

I believe all those that have had good experiences with them. But I am also troubled when I read the numerous reports of all those that have had real issues dealing with them.
As I have more options for buying my gear from people I know personally and trust completely, for me I will just pass on MPB, sorry. I am sure MPB will do just fine without my business, LOL.
Cheers and best to you all.

It's true you can have a bad experience anywhere. It's how the company handles these and how often it happens. If they are few and the company handles them expeditiously and to customer satisfaction, that's ok.

And we all have our own threshold of trust in any business. And that partly comes from our own personal experiences when possible, and partly from verifiable and reported experiences of others, and partly from ratings from respected consumer advocate groups like BBB.
For me, I will pass om MPB. But that doesn't mean anyone else should follow my decision. I just have no need to buy anything from MPB, so therein I take all risk out of the equation. For camera gear I prefer to deal with folks I know face-to-face, and have a long track record with.
Cheers and best to you.
