I have a group of raw photos that I want to sent to my wife. She needs them for her Shutterfly album
I need jpeg etc. What size jpegs do I need. How do I convert my raw files and send them to her
I am sure thé answer is very simple but I am not that computer literate. Please simplify the answer
Thanks
Shelly

With RAW photos "imported" into Lightroom Classic, you use "Export" to create the JPEGs. I don't think size matters unless you are trying to email them. If it does there are a couple ways to reduce the JPEG file size.

Bear in mind that a raw file converted to jpg is not the same as a camera-generated jpg. To generate a jpg the camera applies processing to the raw file whereas if you're exporting from Lightroom there won't be any processing applied to the image other than what's required to convert it to jpg (which is mostly compression).

If you don't know anything about RAW nor Lightroom, see if you also captured JPEG versions of the same images. Otherwise, tell your wife to wait until you know how to edit RAW and know how to export from Lightroom. Be conservative in your delivery ETA ....

On a slightly more positive note, it might be an excellent excuse for sdorfman to give it a go! The Auto correction button in the newest versions of Lightroom Classic is pretty good! It might be worth an argument about weather the Lightroom Auto processing produces a better JPEG from RAW than a camera does when it makes a JPEG.

Agreed. If the OP is satisfied with AUTO Tone, the LR export parameters can be mapped to the screen capture in this tutorial, just scroll down past the text and example images: Recommended resizing parameters for digital images

Once you convert them to jpegs, why not just upload them yourself to her shutterfly album and eliminate the problem of sending them to her? She can create a shared album, send you a link and you can add them directly.

If she uses shutterfly albums regularly, this might be a skill you'll use again in the future.
