For the art students amongst you.
Art students out there will recognise this as the scene from Constable's 'The Haywain'. I am fortunate in living less than 1 hours drive from where this was painted (Flatford Mill) and it remains similar to when Constable did his famous painting.. I have done little with this picture other than 'auto enhance' on photoshop elements. Hope you enjoy - feel free to compare to Constable's painting.. :-)
It looks peaceful and pleasant.
It was known as "Willy Lott's Cottage", and it's nice to see it virtually as it was in the day, great shot
Yes, apparently it has hardly changed, Constable did exercise a bit of artistic licence and altered the size of the cottage to fit the painting and the actual hay cart was an addition. Where I stood to take the picture is more or less where Constable stood to paint his picture..
Yes "Willy Lott's Cottage" this shot is identical to one I took 35 years maybe more ago even down to the reeds. While staying with a friend in Leiston I toured many places, to numerous to mention here. If only I could roll back time, must go to the area again..thanks for sharing brought back many memorys..:-)
I had not seen the painting but your post sparked an interest. Thank you.
